“As far as any personal involvement, I do everything I can to take a step back and let those communities do their own thing. We did our best to put out a set of guidelines for not just mods but the IP as a whole that people can do their best to abide to, to make sure that everyone is on good terms with each other,” Salvato said. “We have to make sure that people respect things like IPs and copyright. User content comes with its fair share of concerns, but Salvato said he’s doing his best to set up a system that lets fans be creative without him having to get involved. In the meantime, there are other unofficial ways to get to know the characters through fan mods, and as a modder himself, Salvato says he loves seeing fans mod DDLC and wants to be nothing but supportive of that community.
